Description
Well-established blooming size plant in a 3" net pot.
Each 1.5" spike produces one +/- 1" flower, usually just above the leaf. The lateral sepals are creamy white with red spots and roll inward and down giving the flower a "bow-legged" appearance. The dorsal sepal forms a small hood over the column. The petals and dorsal sepal are light yellow with red spots. The clear yellow lip flattens towards the end into a "wing" with fine hairs at margin and a nose-like protuberance in the center. A large plant will produce many flowers simultaneously and it's quite a show. Added to that, the flowers smell like strawberries! All together, a fine show! One of a few Bulbos that smell good! Flowers in late summer-fall.
This plant does well in shallow pots, baskets or mounted and large plants tend to be fairly dense or matting depending on what it's growing on/in.
Care: Intermediate-hot temps, bright indirect sunlight and regular year round watering.
