  • Coelogyne speciosa - Orchids for the People

    Coelogyne speciosa

Well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot. Known as the  Beautiful Coelogyne, this species blooms sequentially with 1 to 3 flowers per spike. The musky scented flowers arise out of the center of a new pseudobulb growth and can bloom at any time of the year but most often in spring and summer. The flowers are about 6 cm in diameter. The lip is white with orange-brown or dark brown spots. The large side lobes of the lip are brown or red and curve up to form a tube that almost completely covers the spine. Care: Cool to hot temps, indirect-bright indirect light, regular year-round watering and light feeding. The warmer the growing conditions, the more often it should be watered.

  • Pholidota imbricata - Orchids for the People

    Pholidota imbricata

Well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot. These plants are ready for a 3"-4" pot or hanging basket. Also known as the Rattlesnake orchid (the unopened flower spikes resemble a rattlesnake rattle), this plant produces long chains of flowers similar to a Dendrochilum. Each spike will produce 25-100 pearl-size fragrant flowers that open in a spiral pattern. The plant has attractive, stiff, very dark green leaves. Care: Indirect light-shade, cool-warm temps, regular watering and light feeding spring-fall with a slightly drier rest period in the winter.

  • Last stock! Maxillaria densa - Orchids for the People

    Maxillaria densa

Well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot. This is one of my favorite "weird" orchids! The growth habit is unusual in that it climbs, producing new pseudobulbs above the last mature pseudobulb on stiff, short rhizomes. They appear to be monopodial (they're not, they also produce new growth at the base of the plant, but most of the new growth emerges at the top of the plant). In addition to the weird growth habit, the flowers are bizarre! Many (30-50+) small, fragrant white flowers emerge from around the base of new pseudobulbs. It looks like they are exploding out of the plant, alien-style! Care: Cool-warm temps, shade-indirect light, and regular year-round watering and light feeding.

  • Dendrochilum pallidiflavens - Orchids for the People

    Dendrochilum pallidiflavens

Well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot.  This is an unusual Dendrochilum. Instead of being a "clumper" like most in the genus, this plant is definitely a "runner"! Will form large tangled mats that make it great for a mount or basket. Long chains of beautiful, medium-sized (for a dendrochilum!) bright yellow flowers with white in the throat. Flowers smells like orange creamsicles!Care: Easy to grow plants that like cool-warm temps, indirect light-shade, regular year round watering and light feeding. This species thrives on neglect in a greenhouse.

  • Dendrobium speciosum var curvicaule - Orchids for the People

    Dendrobium speciosum var curvicaule

Dendrobium speciosum var curvicaule.  Well-established, near blooming size seedling in a 3.25" pot. Australian Dendrobiums are one of my favorite groups of orchids, and this is the queen of all Dendrobiums! It is one of the more compact varieties, so it won't eat up too much space (for a speciosum!). These plants are super hardy. They can handle light frosts and temperatures over 90°F. They like very bright indirect sunlight. Truly wonderful plants. If you are looking for a heirloom plant that can be passed down for generations, this is a great choice (I have one that is almost 70 years old)!

    Sarcochilus fitzgeraldii

Well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot. Produces 10-15, beautiful quarter-sized, crystalline white flowers per spike that have a red center. These plants are currently large enough to produce multiple flower spikes per season. Care: Bright indirect light, cool-warm temps with good air movement, regular year-round watering, and light feeding. Protect from exessive summer heat as the plant reacts badly to hot stagnant conditions.

  • Last stock! Dendrobium crepidatum v assam (011169) - Orchids for the People

    Dendrobium crepidatum v assamicum

Near blooming size plant in a 4" octagonal basket. This is a cute little species Dendrobium! Best grown in hanging baskets or mounted. New canes grow upright at first but them become pendant or semi-pendant as they mature. Flowers on mature leafless canes in the spring. The fragrant, waxy flowers last longer if the plant remains relatively dry during the bloom cycle.  Care: Regular watering and light feeding spring-fall, intermediate to warm temps spring-fall and a cooler (45-55), much drier rest period in the winter. Plants must be subjected to a cool period in the winter to flower their best in the spring.
