Description
Well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot.
Dendrochilum glumaceum produces foot-long flower spikes with 50-100 flowers per spike. To me, the flowers smell like a combination of old-fashioned clove gum with a dash of Aqua Net hairspray. It's interestingly pleasant! Flowers randomly on new growths throughout the year.
These plants are often called Grass Orchids (because of the leaves) or Fox Tail Orchids (because of the inflorescence). This plant is easy to grow and gets large fast. Specimen-size plants are a sight to behold! I've seen specimen plants with upwards of 100 arching inflorescences in flower at the same time in a relatively small 6" pot!
Care: Regular year-round watering and light feeding (do not let medium dry out completely), indirect light, and intermediate to warm temps.
