Restrepia
Light: Provide medium, indirect, or dappled light. Avoid direct afternoon sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
Humidity: Restrepia orchids require high humidity, ideally 70-100%. You can achieve this in terrariums or by providing high humidity around the plant.
Temperature: These orchids prefer cool-to-intermediate temperatures. A good target is to keep the temperature below 68°F (20°C), with a daily temperature fluctuation of 10-15°F (6-8°C).
Watering: Keep the roots moist but not wet: at all times. Use a fine, well-draining mix in a small pot to retain moisture. Allow excess water to drain freely, as stagnant water can lead to rot.
Fertilizer: Fertilize weekly during the active growth period, using a very diluted dose (e.g., 1/4 to 1/2 of the recommended strength for orchids).
Repotting & Potting Media: Grow Restrepia in small, well-draining pots. Alternatively, you can grow them mounted on a slab or a stick.
Signs of Trouble: Crinkled leaves can be a sign that the plant is not hydrating properly, which can be caused by low humidity or issues with the root system.
