The picture of the specimen/mother plant was taken Feb 2013 at the San Francisco Pacific Orchid Expo, one of the biggest orchid shows in the world. There it won a Certificate of Cultural Excellence, Best Cattleya Alliance by a professional grower, best Cattleya alliance of show, best specimen of show and was the runner up for best overall plant of show! This species will grow in a climate ranging from cool to hot, and they prefer partial shade. Blooms from fall to early spring on a single flowered 1/2" to 1" long inflorescence and have a 1" wide fragrant flower!
Prefers to be mounted where it can crawl freely. Loves to mounted horizontally on a flat surface where it can form a mat.
