Description
Well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot.
This plant is a stunner! For those of you who can grow cooler growing orchids, this is a must-have! If a flower can be both dark red and bright red at the same time this is it. The throat is an orangey-red that bleeds out into the solid red sepals. The flowers float 3-6" above the leaves on stout (for a Masdevallia), single-flowered spikes.
I've been trying for many years to capture a photo of this flower that does it justice and have yet to succeed! They are the first flowers to grab people's attention in the greenhouse.
Blooms in the spring and early summer.
Care: These plants like it cool, moist and shady. Prefer temps 50-75 Degrees F, year-round watering to keep moist, high humidity and moderate indirect light.
