It is a species of orchid native to Paraguay and southern Brazil whose fruits have a vanilla-like fragrance and are used in desserts like milk and ice cream.  Care:  This species likes the same growing conditions as most Cattleyas and Encyclia. Intermediate to warm temps, bright indirect light with regular watering and light feeding year-round.

Lightly fragrant. This species blooms spring through early fall, whenever new pseudobulbs mature.  Care: Intermediate-warm temps and bright indirect light. Regular watering and fertilizer spring-fall and dry periods and between light waterings with no fertilizer in the winter.
