We grow lots of Cold to Cool growing orchids! It's a perfect fit for our coastal Northern California weather. Nighttime temps for these plants range from 40°F-55°F and daytime up to 75°F.

Known as the Beautiful Coelogyne, this species blooms sequentially with 1 to 3 flowers per spike. The musky scented flowers arise out of the center of a new pseudobulb growth and can bloom at any time of the year but most often in spring and summer. The flowers are about 6 cm in diameter. The lip is white with orange-brown or dark brown spots. The large side lobes of the lip are brown or red and curve up to form a tube that almost completely covers the spine.

Spikes will have up to 15 or so flowers on large plants. Very fragrant with a scent similar to narcissus.This plant is a fast grower, with each bulb producing 2 or 3 new bulbs. This is a beautiful plant with beautiful flowers! The flowers are formed on a pendant spike so it's best to plant this species in a hanging basket or pot to fully enjoy the flowers. The large, long-lasting flowers are approx 2.5-3" across. Petals are a very light rosy pink and the lip is brick red/cinnamon and the flowers are sweetly fragrant. Each spike produces 3-6 flowers successively. Each new flower blooms just as its predecessor is wilting. More mature plants will produce many flower spikes at the same time. With this cross we are looking mainly for hybrid vigor. The offspring will look very similar to both parents with some slight variations in color.
