A beautiful, medium-sized orchid that produces long chains of small, lantern-shaped creamy white fragrant flowers. The foliage is also interesting. If you grow it shady the plant stays dark green. If you grow it with a little sun, the leaves turn orange from the tip.
Care: Cool-warm, bright indirect light, regular watering, and light feeding throughout the year with slight drying between waterings.

Also known as the Rattlesnake orchid (the unopened flower spikes resemble a rattlesnake rattle), this plant produces long chains of flowers similar to a Dendrochilum. Each spike will produce 25-100 pearl-size fragrant flowers that open in a spiral pattern.
The plant has attractive, stiff, very dark green leaves.

This is a beautiful, fast growing, medium-large Pleurothallis. These particular plants have beautiful gold flowers. Flowers are about an .5" wide and 1" tall. The huge (for a Pleurothallis!) 5-6" long flower spike will produce 8-20 flowers that open at the same time.
Care: Cool-intermediate temps, shady conditions and should not be allowed to dry out for extended periods of time or at all when it is warm.

Not only does it produce new branches from the base of the plant, but it also keikis freely from the base of each leaf creating “rooted branches”. You can leave the keikis on to get a big, bushy plant or you can easily remove them to prune or propagate.Blooms profusely in late winter. 5-10 dime-sized nodding flowers on arching spikes. I'm not even going to try to describe these flowers because it won't do them justice! I'll let the pictures do the talking. I will tell you they measure just over 1" in length. Here at the nursery we just refer to them as "the alien cockroaches". Weird and eyecatching and at the same time very pretty! This plant has flowers that never truly open. Instead a tiny slit forms in the side of the flower allowing the tiny gnats that pollinate it in. The flowers are dark purple on the outside and gold with purple dots on the inside. The flowers measure just under an inch long and last 6 weeks. Flowers in the late fall.
These plants grow well in cool to warm temps with medium/low light and should not be allowed to dry out completely. We grow ours in bright indirect light which makes the leaves turn purple. When these plants are grown in less light the leaves will remain green and the plant will still flower prodigously.
