Very similar to D fimbriatum, having dark yellow/orange (almost gold) flowers with a heavily fringed lip, but the plant and flowers are a little larger and the lip of the flower has 2 smaller separate or 1 large dark brown to black eyespot(s). Flowers on leafless and mature canes starting in the spring and continues to flower through the fall at random.
Care: Easy to grow. Prefers cool-warm temps, bright indirect light, and lots of water in the summer and infrequent, light watering in the winter.

With this cross we are looking mainly for hybrid vigor. The offspring will look very similar to both parents with some slight variations in color. Stanhopea embreei ('Lumberjack' x self), recently repotted blooming-size plants in 6" octagonal baskets. Stanhopeas thrive and flower better when overgrown in their basket so these plants are potentially in their "forever home"! The plant picture represents the size of the plant you will receive.
The unusual flowers have very heavy substance (they feel like they're made out of plastic) and great conformation. Each spike holds 4 flowers. Each flower is about 4" wide and 5-6" tall. Strong and unusual fragrance that I find pleasant.
