A new mini hybrid from Orchids For The People. Fast-growing and floriferous. We deflasked these plants in the fall of 2021 and already they are producing 4-8 flowers! The flowers fit on a quarter but are tall and big enough not to go unnoticed. This plant would make a great addition to any mini, cool growing, or pleurothallid collection! It would also look great mounted or in a vivarium.
Care: Cool-intermediate temps, shade- indirect light, regular watering and light feeding year round.

This clone of M coccinea has large, very round red-magenta color with a contrasting yellow throat measuring just shy of 2" wide by 4" tall, held well above the plant on strong stems. Pictures don't do the flower justice! We've never been fully able to capture the richness of the red in the flower in pictures.Care: Cold to intermediate temps, partial shade, regular watering year round and regular, light feeding spring-fall. Beautiful dark mahogany flowers with a yellow throat. The plants get huge but are best kept smaller as the flowers tend to hide in the foliage on short stems. This is a great Masdevallia for mounting--it shows off the flowers!

I have no idea what the flowers are going to look or smell like but I have high hopes!We took the relatively small and amazingly fragrant (this is the "coconut cream pie orchid") Maxillaria tenuifolia and crossed it with the Maxillaria species that has some of the coolest looking flowers, M picta 'Vasher'. M picta is also fragrant and the flowers are about twice the size of M tenuifolia. So far, the stature and structure look more like M tenuifolia with long wispy leaves atop big, round bulbs. Get 'em while they are cheap! Care: Bright indirect light, cool-warm temps, regular watering, and fertilizer spring-fall and let dry between light waterings in the winter.

This Maxillaria produces 1-1.5" gold, wing-shaped flowers. Both the sepals and petals have maroon stripes. The lip is black.
Care: Prefers cool-intermediate temps but will tolerate warm temps, indirect light, regular watering, and light feeding year-round.

The coconut cream pie orchid! With some orchids, they're fragrant but it's a stretch to call them "chocolate" or "vanilla". With this plant, it smells like there is a pie in the oven!
This plant is one of our favorites. It grows fast and flowers well when treated nicely. The flowers are small (1.5" across) but a plant in a 6" pot may have 100 or more at the same time.

The long-lasting, 2" wide x 3" tall, velvety crimson red flowers have a beautiful "angel" pattern in the center. And they smell like roses! An uncommon orchid that is also easy to grow. The only species in this genus, N. pulchella is a creeper that grows into a mat. Can be hung up in its current basket and allowed to trail where it wishes but also adapts easily to being mounted vertically or horizontally. This species doesn't need repotting very often and doesn't need a large mount, pot or basket because the majority of the plant just dangles in open space! Flowers in the Fall with bright lavendar flowers.Care: Can be grown cool-warm and prefers intermediate light. We water them a lot in the Spring/Summer and only a little in the Winter.

Closely related to Epidendrums, these plants are very easy to grow and flower. Beautiful, long-lasting bluish-purple flowers emerge from the tips of the long, branching canes late winter all the way through summer. One of the longest flowering periods of any plant in our greenhouses. Rooted branches can easily be divided, like a reed stem Epidendrum.
