We grow lots of intermediate growing orchids! It's a perfect fit for our coastal Northern California weather. Nighttime temps for these plants range from 55°F-62°F and daytime temps from 75°F-85°F.

This is a beautiful, fast-growing, medium-large Pleurothallis. These particular plants have beautiful gold flowers. Flowers are about an .5" wide and 1" tall. The huge (for a Pleurothallis!) 5-6" long flower spike will produce 8-20 flowers that open at the same time.
Care: Cool-intermediate temps, shady conditions, and should not be allowed to dry out for extended periods of time or at all when it is warm.

Beautiful heart-shaped leaves that are on the large size for a Pleurothallis. The large flowers, for a Pleurothallis, sit on top of the leaf. Quite a conversation piece! Flowers multiple times a year.

Pleurothallis picta is a tiny orchid that lacks pseudobulbs. Instead, it grows on slender stems called ramicauls, each topped with a single, leathery, spoon-shaped leaf. The flowers are correspondingly tiny—usually less than 1 cm—but are produced in abundance on thin, wiry racemes that rise above the foliage. The translucent yellow or cream flowers are delicately "painted" with reddish-purple or maroon stripes and spots.

15-30 small, fragrant vibrant yellow flowers seem to erupt out of the base of the leaf! Porroglossum dalstroemii is a rare, miniature epiphytic orchid native to the wet, mossy cloud forests of southern Ecuador. The flowers are non-resupinate and have a "Trap-Door" lip (trapping pollinators to do their thing). It is a nearly continuous bloomer.
Care: Moderate indirect light, keep the roots evenly moist at all times, intermediate temperature (thrives best between 58°F and 72°F (14°C to 22°C)), and benefits from a gentle nighttime temperature drop, requires high, stable humidity levels between 70% and 85%.

I'm not even going to try to describe these flowers because it won't do them justice! I'll let the pictures do the talking. I will tell you they measure just over 1" in length. Here at the nursery we just refer to them as "the alien cockroaches". Weird and eyecatching and at the same time very pretty!
