Known as the Beautiful Coelogyne, this species blooms sequentially with 1 to 3 flowers per spike. The musky scented flowers arise out of the center of a new pseudobulb growth and can bloom at any time of the year but most often in spring and summer. The flowers are about 6 cm in diameter. The lip is white with orange-brown or dark brown spots. The large side lobes of the lip are brown or red and curve up to form a tube that almost completely covers the spine.
Care: Cool to hot temps, indirect-bright indirect light, regular year-round watering and light feeding. The warmer the growing conditions, the more often it should be watered.

This robust and easy-to-grow Dendrobium is a beauty when in bloom! The fragrant flowers develop in clusters along the mature, leafless stems (which can reach 2-3 feet in length). The flowers have pink petals and sepals with an orange-red lip. This species flowers randomly throughout the year. Flowers last 2-5 weeks. Sweetly fragrant flowers!
Care: This orchid prefers intermediate to warm temperatures, bright indirect light, and good air circulation. Watering and light feeding year-round, but allow the pot to dry out slightly between waterings.
Well-established blooming size plant in a 2.25" pot. This is a unique and interesting Dracula. The first thing that stands out is the fact that it sends flower spikes up, not straight down, which is rare for this genus. The second thing you notice is the flower itself. The flower hangs down from the spike and the sepals are fused into a lantern-like shape. This, along with the bright orange color, draws a person in for a closer look. Then you notice the inside of the flower is completely covered in fuzzy hair! All in all, a neat addition to any cool to intermediate collection.Dracula sodiroi is also easier to grow than most Draculas because, since the flower spike grow upwards, you can grow it in a pot rather than a basket. This makes it easier to keep moist which, along with high humidity and good air movement, is essential for keeping this entire genus happy and healthy.

Most flower spikes produce 4-7 flowers sequentially. The flowers are medium-sized, 2" from tip to tail. The fungus-like lip is hinged and moves in the slightest breeze. Care: cool, moist, and shady. Minimum low temp of 46° F and a high of around 85°. Anything over 80°, keep the plant really wet. We give our draculas lots of light in the winter and lots of shade in the summer.
The nice thing about this group is if you can grow one Drac you can pretty much grow them all. Like their cousins the Masdevallias, when these plants are happy they grow like weeds and are prolific flowerers.

The flowers of this species are unusual, even for a Bulbophyllum! Each flower is almost 3" long from top to bottom. The maroon background is darkest at the top and highlighted by yellow spots (it resembles snakeskin to me) and slowly fades to white on the bottom sepals. It's beautiful and weird at the same time! Beautiful semi-peloric flowers! The lip and petals are purple and the sepals are green with purple spots. New growth has dark pigment spots which is indicative of spotted flowers.
