Near blooming size plant in a 4" octagonal basket. This is a cute little species Dendrobium! Best grown in hanging baskets or mounted. New canes grow upright at first but them become pendant or semi-pendant as they mature. Flowers on mature leafless canes in the spring. The fragrant, waxy flowers last longer if the plant remains relatively dry during the bloom cycle.
Care: Regular watering and light feeding spring-fall, intermediate to warm temps spring-fall and a cooler (45-55), much drier rest period in the winter. Plants must be subjected to a cool period in the winter to flower their best in the spring.
Mature, mounted blooming size plants. We imported these plants 6 months ago but held on to them to ensure they were healthy and strong (they are!). These plants have flowered at the nursery and are currently producing new leaves, pseudobulbs, and roots.
Small is an understatement when describing this species! These mature plants measure 1-2" top to bottom and produce tightly packed pseudobulbs with skinny leaves that are about 1“ long at maturity. Pseudobulbs lose their leaves after they mature and before they flower. Each mature, leafless pseudobulb will flower more than once. Produces 5-8 shirt button-sized, long-lasting, shiny white flowers with a purple lip.
Blooms in succession in summer, and can produce several to more than 20 flowers at the same time once flowering occurs! When blooming, its brilliant pinkish-purple flowers are long lasting and fragrant. Fall-winter flowererCare: Intermediate-warm temps, bright indirect light, daily light misting, light fertilizer 2x/month when growing new roots or leaves.

Small, well-established blooming size plant in a 3.25" pot. This is one of the first orchids I grew as a kid in southern CA and is still one of the hardiest and most forgiving orchids you can grow! Light, regular fertilizing spring-late summer
Well-established, small blooming size plants in 2” pots.
This is a great little plant, suitable for a beginner but cute enough that it’s a great plant for any collector! It has a rambling habit that makes it well suited for a hanging basket or pot. It makes for a superb specimen plant due to its small stature and its tendency to produce large flushes of beautiful, large (for the size of the plant), fragrant flowers all at once. The flowers have bubble gum pink sepals and petals and a fimbriated white lip with a large central orange disc. Flowers late winter-spring.
Care: Bright indirect light. Prefers warmer, wet summers and cooler, drier winters. Fertilize regularly when actively growing.
Well-established blooming-size plant in 3.25" pot
An interesting and easy-to-grow Dendrobium species. The canes are 12-24" long and sparsely covered with fine black hair. 1-3 flowers emerge from a short spike and are approx. 1.5" long, pure white with an orange, "toothy" lip, a long spur, and a very faint fragrance.
Care: Prefers cold-intermediate temps and bright indirect light. Regular watering and fertilizer spring-fall with a drier rest period in the winter.
Dendrobium (speciosum x tetragonum) x D tetragonum: Blooming size in 3.25" pot
We remade this beautiful hybrid a couple of years ago and have been very happy with the results. These plants started blooming at a really small size and have remained compact (the new canes are currently 4-6" long). And the stems are square! D. tetragonum (one of the parents) has slender, square stems but these are big blocky square stems. The star-shaped flowers are yellow with beautiful red markings on the sepals, petals, and lip. The number of markings vary from plant to plant. Plus, the flowers are huge for the size of the plant! The first time they flowered each spike had 2 flowers and this time around they had 4 so chances are the flower count will continue to go up as the plants mature. Care: Bright indirect light, moist and warm in the summer, cool and drier in the winter.
Large, well-established Dendrobium prenticei (syn Dockrillia lichenastrum) plant on a 5" madrone log. No strings attaching the plant to the log-only roots!
If you are interested in miniature orchids this is a great, easy-to-grow species. The flowers are tiny but interesting if you have good eyes or a magnifying glass. The leaves and growth pattern are the main draw of this plant. The pointed, cylindrical leaves are reminiscent of a succulent and are spaced very closely together.
Care: Bright indirect light, intermediate-hot temps. Regular watering and light feeding spring-fall with a dry winter.
Near blooming size seedling (12-18 months) in a 4” octagonal basket.
This robust and easy-to-grow Dendrobium is a beauty when in bloom! The fragrant flowers develop in clusters along the mature, leafless stems (which can reach 2-3 feet in length). The flowers have pink petals and sepals with an orange-red lip. This species flowers randomly throughout the year. Flowers last 2-5 weeks.
Care: This orchid prefers intermediate to warm temperatures, bright indirect light, and good air circulation. Watering and light feeding yearround but allow the pot to dry out slightly between waterings.

Dendrobium speciosum (Sellon x #10). Well-established, near blooming size seedling in a 6" pot.
Australian Dendrobiums are one of my favorite groups of orchids, and this is the queen of all Dendrobiums! I received a flask of this particular cross several years ago from Wolf Orchids in Australia. It is one of the more compact varieties, so it won't eat up too much space (for a speciosum!).
These plants are super hardy. They can handle light frosts and temperatures over 100°F. They like very bright indirect sunlight. Truly wonderful plants.
If you are looking for a heirloom plant that can be passed down for generations, this is a great choice (I have one that is almost 70 years old)!
Shipping for this plant is the "2 Plant" rate (Please see Shipping Policy for details)
