This is a beautiful plant with beautiful flowers! The flowers are formed on a pendant spike so it's best to plant this species in a hanging basket or pot to fully enjoy the flowers. The large, long-lasting flowers are approx 2.5-3" across. Petals are a very light rosy pink and the lip is brick red/cinnamon and the flowers are sweetly fragrant. Each spike produces 3-6 flowers successively. Each new flower blooms just as its predecessor is wilting. More mature plants will produce many flower spikes at the same time. It's a non-stop show for months!Care: Cool to hot temps, indirect-bright indirect light, regular year-round watering, and light feeding. The warmer the growing conditions, the more often it should be watered.

A beautiful, medium-sized orchid that produces long chains of small, lantern-shaped creamy white fragrant flowers. The foliage is also interesting. If you grow it shady the plant stays dark green. If you grow it with a little sun, the leaves turn orange from the tip.

In our humble opinion, one of the prettiest and showiest of the "Encyclia group" (it's been called Encyclia, Prosthecea, and Panarica in the last decade so take your pick of names!). The flowers, which are 4"+, are without a doubt some of the largest flowers of the group. Each 18-24" flower spike will have 8-14 flowers that open simultaneously. Plus they have a nice, light fragrance in the evening!

The coconut cream pie orchid! With some orchids, they're fragrant but it's a stretch to call them "chocolate" or "vanilla". With this plant, it smells like there is a pie in the oven!
This plant is one of our favorites. It grows fast and flowers well when treated nicely. The flowers are small (1.5" across) but a plant in a 6" pot may have 100 or more at the same time.

Encyclia pentotis, now known as Anacheilium baculus. Well established 2-3 pseudobulb division with at least one new growth since repotting (for a total of at least 3 pseudobulbs).
I think this is one of the most beautiful flowers in the Encyclia "alliance". To me they look almost angelic. 2 Flowers are produced back to back one a 1-4" stem. Flowers are Approx 2" across. They have a strong, rich fragrance (I'd call it peppery honey/jasmine). This is one of our favorite fragrant species! Blooms late spring-early summer.
Care: Intermediate-warm temps and bright indirect light. Regular watering and fertilizer spring-fall and dry periods and between light waterings with no fertilizer in the winter.

1-2 flowers are produced on new pseudobulbs in the spring and summer. Each white flower is approximately 3" across. The purple lip is covered with white hairs. The flowers are beautiful and the fruity fragrance is amazing!

One word of caution: these plants do not like to be repotted as they get older (they'll stop flowering for a year or so) so don't do it often, do it gently, and use a really good medium when you do it! Also, this orchid grows warm and needs a dry winter rest after which, one should resume watering and fertilizer as the new growth appears in the spring.
Epigeneium nakaharaei. An interesting and easy-to-grow scrambling miniature. Some now consider this species a Dendrobium. Does well in a pot or basket and loves to be mounted. Very lightly fragrant.

This is a great little plant, suitable for a beginner but cute enough that it’s a great plant for any collector! It has a rambling habit that makes it well suited for a hanging basket or pot. It makes for a superb specimen plant due to its small stature and its tendency to produce large flushes of beautiful, large (for the size of the plant), fragrant flowers all at once. The flowers have bubble gum pink sepals and petals and a fimbriated white lip with a large central orange disc. Flowers late winter-spring.
Care: Bright indirect light. Prefers warmer, wet summers and cooler, drier winters. Fertilize regularly when actively growing.
